The Cove Wellness x NeuroWellness Lab
IN RESIDENCE AT THE COVE
The Data Shows You What Feeling Fine Can't.
From October 3, NeuroWellness Lab is a permanent part of The Cove Wellness – not a pop‑up and not an add‑on, but an integrated part of how The Cove supports its members, from the moment you join through every training block, recovery phase and renewal. As seen in Good Magazine.
You train, breathe and recover with intention. Now you can see what it's actually doing for your nervous system. Using NeuralChek HRV assessment and a Somatic Intelligence Report, we give you a data‑informed snapshot of your stress load, recovery capacity and autonomic patterns – not a diagnosis, and not about finding something "wrong" with you, but a clear picture of what your system may be carrying and a practical next step from there.
FOCUS //
Closing the gap between how hard you train and how well your system recovers. Using NeuralChek HRV assessment, Somatic Intelligence reporting and practical support, we help you see whether your current rhythm is building resilience or simply asking you to endure more.
OUTCOME //
A clearer understanding of what your nervous system is carrying beneath your training, stress and daily life. Over time, this looks like better recovery, smarter pacing, coaching and data pointing in the same direction, and more permission to rest when your body needs it.
Built Into Every Way You Use The Cove
However you move through The Cove, there's a natural way in.
/ OUTPUTS & WHO IT’S FOR
Complimentary Consult
For anyone unsure where to begin. A 30‑minute conversation at The Cove about your stress, sleep, recovery and goals, so we can find the right entry point together – an assessment, a single session or a full protocol – rather than you guessing your way in.
NeuralChek HRV Scan & Somatic Intelligence Report
For members who want to see what their body is actually doing. A 30‑minute scan at The Cove maps your stress load, ANS Balance Index, recovery capacity and regulatory age. Your Somatic Intelligence Report translates the data into plain language, and your complimentary review with Nic turns it into a practical plan for your week. Follow‑up scans across your training blocks show what's shifting over time.
Ongoing Nervous‑System Support
For members whose results point to a need for deeper regulation or recovery. Depending on what your scan shows, this might include BrainTap sessions at The Cove, or somatic coaching, Flowpresso compression therapy and LightStim red‑light therapy at NeuroWellness Lab – each helping you respond to what your body is telling you.
For some members, the right next step is the 12-Week Nervous System Remodel. It's a structured programme built from your own scan results and re-measured at the midpoint and the end, so you can see the change in your data rather than assume it. Alongside sessions at NeuroWellness Lab, your protocol may extend back into The Cove, with breathwork, meditation, movement, sauna or cold immersion prescribed where your data suggests your system would respond to them. Each one is mapped to a specific reading in your report, so you know not just what to do, but why.
Who It's For
For Cove members across every membership – Intro Offer, drop‑ins, session packs, Part‑Time, Unlimited and Members‑Only Unlimited – who are:
training consistently but not recovering the way they expect
experiencing poor sleep, fatigue or a system that can't find the off switch
carrying persistent stress load alongside work, family and daily life
hitting plateaus where effort isn't translating into progress
new to The Cove and curious about their starting point before habits set in
How to Book
Your Cove coach can refer you directly, or you can book yourself through Momence. Start with your complimentary consult and we'll recommend the right next step from there. Scans, consults, reviews and BrainTap sessions run weekly at The Cove, 86 Moorhouse Avenue; coaching, Flowpresso and LightStim sessions are at our NeuroWellness Lab headquarters.
Members‑Only Unlimited members receive members‑only pricing on scans and support.

/ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
At The Cove, NeuralChek is one of the ways we listen to your nervous system, so your training and recovery can be supported with more precision and care. It uses heart rate variability (HRV) to give a snapshot of how your autonomic nervous system is responding to training, stress, recovery and everyday life. Repeat scans across your training blocks help us see trends over time, rather than guessing from how you feel on a given day.
NeuralChek uses clinical-grade technology, but it is a wellness assessment, not a medical test, and it doesn't diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Any reports or insights you receive from a NeuralChek scan are for educational and informational purposes only and should never replace personalised advice from your doctor or healthcare provider. If you have any concerns about your health, please seek guidance from a qualified medical professional and never delay or disregard medical advice because of something you see in a NeuralChek report or discuss in session.
Preparing for Your Scan
-
That's what the complimentary consult is for. It's 30 minutes to talk through your stress, sleep, recovery and goals, and find the right entry point together. Questions beforehand? Email hello@unapologeticallyrobertson.net or call 021 762 1061.
-
No. Every Cove member can book, from Intro Offer and drop-ins through to Unlimited. Members-Only Unlimited members receive members-only pricing on scans and support.
-
For the most accurate results, we recommend:
Avoiding exercise for at least 4 hours before your scan
Eating only a light meal within 1–2 hours prior (or waiting until after your session)
Staying well hydrated the day before and the day of your scan
Avoiding alcohol on the day of your appointment
If you regularly consume caffeine (like coffee), continue as normal. Sudden changes to your routine can influence your results.
-
For the most accurate reading, avoid exercise for at least 4 hours before your scan, so it's best booked on a rest day or before training rather than after a class. Mornings are ideal. Eat only lightly in the 1 to 2 hours beforehand, stay well hydrated, avoid alcohol on the day, and keep your usual coffee routine. Please remove your smartwatch or wearable before the scan, as it can interfere with the signal.
-
Morning is ideal, as your body is typically in a more natural, baseline state. However, if that's not possible, following the preparation guidelines above will help ensure the most accurate reading.
-
Coffee: If you regularly drink coffee, continue as normal before your scan. Sudden changes (like skipping it or having more than usual) can affect your nervous system readings.
Alcohol: Alcohol can significantly impact your results and should be avoided for several hours before your scan.
Meals: Heavy meals can influence your nervous system activity. A light meal is recommended if you need to eat beforehand.
-
Your nervous system is highly responsive, so everyday factors can influence your results. These include:
Recent exercise
Food digestion
Caffeine or alcohol intake
Hydration levels
Sleep quality
Stress (mental, emotional, or physical)
This is why we focus on consistency and context when interpreting your results—not just a single snapshot.
During Your Scan
-
Your 30-minute session includes a short conversation about your stress, sleep, energy and training, then the scan itself, which is simple and non-invasive. You sit comfortably with soft sensor clips on your wrists while NeuralChek records around 300 heartbeats over 3 to 5 minutes.
During the scan, you'll be asked to:
Sit still and relaxed
Keep your feet flat on the floor and hands separated
Breathe normally
Remain quiet while the system records your heart rhythm
-
Occasionally, the scan display may look unfamiliar or slightly irregular. In most cases, this is related to sensor placement or environmental factors rather than anything concerning in your body. Your practitioner will adjust things as needed to ensure accurate results.
-
This usually means the wrist sensors (clips) are placed on the wrong sides. Your practitioner can quickly correct this without affecting your overall experience.
-
Sometimes the ECG line may appear slightly thicker or “fuzzy,” especially if the device is connected to a power source. This is normal and does not affect the accuracy of your results.
-
This is often caused by nearby electronic devices or external interference. To support an accurate scan:
Remove smartwatches or wearable tech
Keep phones away from your body
Place bags or belongings away from your lap
In some cases, individuals may be more sensitive to environmental factors, which your practitioner will account for during the session.
-
Occasionally, a scan may need to be repeated if there is too much “interference” in the signal. This can happen for a variety of normal reasons, such as movement, circulation, or environmental factors.
If needed, we may:
Adjust your positioning
Warm your hands or improve circulation
Ask you to rest briefly and try again
If a scan still isn’t successful, we’ll use that as valuable insight into how your nervous system is functioning and discuss what may be influencing it on the day.
Understanding NeuralChek
-
Your Somatic Intelligence Report arrives within working days from your scan. Your complimentary review with Nic then walks you through what it shows and what a practical next step might look like for your week.
-
Most wearables measure HRV through one or two metrics. NeuralChek analyses a much wider range of markers, including your ANS Balance Index, stress load, recovery capacity and regulatory age, and your report translates that picture into a plan. You don't just see what your nervous system looks like. You leave knowing what to do about it.
-
Many wearable devices measure heart rate variability (HRV) using one or two key metrics (such as RMSSD or SDNN). NeuralChek goes further by analysing a wider range of physiological markers, offering a more detailed and comprehensive snapshot of your nervous system. This allows for deeper insights beyond what most consumer devices provide.
-
Most members re-scan every 4 to 8 weeks, which lines up well with the start and end of a training block. Repeat scans show whether your training rhythm is building capacity over time, not just on a single day.
-
Only if you choose to approve these being shared as part of your onboarding process . Your results are yours, and your data is managed securely by your practitioner. With your permission, your coach can use them to shape how they support you.
-
Yes, children can be scanned using NeuralChek. The main requirement is that they remain still and seated for 3–5 minutes during the scan. Success will depend on the child's comfort level and the ability of both the parent and practitioner to help them feel relaxed and at ease.
-
In most cases, NeuralChek scans are not suitable for individuals with pacemakers or known heart rhythm irregularities (such as arrhythmias or extrasystoles). These conditions can interfere with the system's ability to collect accurate data. Even if a scan is completed, the results may not be reliable.
-
A small number of people may not be able to complete a reliable NeuralChek scan due to specific physiological factors, including:
Pacemakers
Irregular heart rhythms
Circulatory challenges
Very low heart rate or blood pressure
This doesn’t mean anything is “wrong”—it simply means the technology isn’t able to capture consistent data in that moment. We’ll use this as valuable information to guide your care and discuss other ways to support your nervous system health.
-
Yes. NeuralChek allows secure transfer of your scan data between systems when needed. This is managed by your practitioner to ensure your records remain consistent and accessible if you move locations or continue care elsewhere.
/ GET IN TOUCH WITH US
Whether you're a Cove member or simply curious about what your body is carrying, NeuroWellness Lab at The Cove is a clear, supported place to find out what your nervous system is doing, and whether your current rhythm is building your capacity or asking more than your body can give.
Exploring support is relaxed, transparent and judgment‑free, because understanding your body should feel grounded, collaborative and strangely relieving, not clinical and cold. You don't have to perform, and you don't have to know the answer before you arrive.
Share what you're noticing poor sleep, slow recovery, a system that can't switch off, effort that isn't turning into progress and we'll help you work out whether a complimentary consult, a NeuralChek scan or ongoing support is the right place to start.
