From Serial Apologiser to Unapologetic Guide: My Story.
For most of my life, apology was my second language. I learned to shrink myself, to soften every edge, to apologise for showing up boldly or wanting “too much.” I apologised for my ambition, my voice, even my joy believing, like so many women, that taking up space made me somehow less deserving.
But I am no longer willing to live small. My story is about returning to myself the deep, sometimes messy journey to presence, confidence, and unapologetic living. It didn’t happen all at once; it happened in small moments. Every time I decided to breathe deeply before a hard conversation. The day I wore that “too-bright” dress instead of fading into the background. My morning ritual of self-forgiveness and celebration, which slowly began to replace old patterns of apology.
Wellness and style became my allies in this extremely personal experience. I realised that each ritual I practiced whether grounding myself before work, choosing clothes that felt powerful and authentic, or dedicating time for a simple meditation was a way of choosing myself. Apology slowly gave way to presence. Confidence started to rise, not because I tried to be someone else, but because I finally gave myself permission to be me.
I started asking myself, what would it look like to build my routines around celebrating who I am, rather than correcting who I’m not? If it doesn’t feel like me, why wear it? If a ritual doesn’t honour my strengths, why keep it around?
These questions inspired Unapologetically Robertson. I wanted to create a space for women to trade self-editing for self-celebration, to curate their wardrobes and their wellbeing with intention, joy, and unapologetic pride.
Now, I see fashion and wellness as two parts of the same self-empowering journey. Putting on a bold lip is no longer just about how I look, it’s a badge of my courage. The right blazer is more than professional it’s the posture of my leadership. A grounding meditation is as essential as my favourite necklace before a big day; each choice, each ritual, is an act of gracious, intentional presence.
This is where my “Bag Check” philosophy was born: I carry only what serves, supports, and empowers me. The rest, I lay aside, without guilt and without apology. It’s a daily, soulful edit, a creative practice in choosing what feels true and generous.
My journey from serial apologiser to unapologetic guide is deeply personal, but it’s also universal. So many women have been taught to hold back, to make themselves smaller, to apologise for wanting more. But unapologetic living is possible. It’s not about being loud—it’s choosing yourself, lovingly, every single day. My wellness rituals, my routines, even my style, aren’t about perfection. They’re about making space for everything I am and letting myself feel fully at home in my life.
So this is my invitation. Claim your story. Curate your rituals. Step into a life where apology is replaced by radiant, rooted confidence. Being unapologetic isn’t just a label, it's how I choose to live, lead, and love. Every beautiful, imperfect, intentional moment at a time.
